Summer in Seersucker

If there has been one consistency in my summer wardrobe this year it is definitely seersucker. I have this pattern on heavy rotation in my closet and it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting sick of it anytime soon! (Seriously though, anytime I go shopping I always return with at least one seersucker item!)

I’ve pulled together some of my favorite seersucker items that are absolutely perfect for those poolside barbecues and rooftop dinner parties this summer!

I’ve also been having a lot of luck finding cute pieces at small town boutiques! I love finding hidden gems and supporting local businesses!

Winter Weather Must Haves

As much as I would like to protest it, winter is here and it’s here to stay. Temperatures are continuing to drop and my sanity seems to be dropping with it. Yesterday my house wouldn’t heat over 54 degrees so I spent the better half of my day layered up while attempting to get the problem fixed.

After living in North Carolina while I was in college I’m finding that I blocked out winter weather from my mind. Being back in Massachusetts means my wardrobe has had to change a bit. Here are some of my winter essentials that I don’t leave the house without these days!

L.L Bean Boots || Land’s End Down Coat (on sale now!) || L.L. Bean Touchscreen Gloves || Knitted Beanie || Blanket Scarf || Fleece Lined Leggings || Fair Isle Sweater || Warm Socks

I’m a big believer in warmth over anything else. Luckily, with the above essentials I don’t have to sacrifice fashion for comfort. I’m able to stay warm while also looking winter chic!

Saturday Secret: Winter Survival Wardrobe

The new year definitely brought new weather down to North Carolina! No longer are the days 60 degrees and sunny but rather down to 15 degrees and windy. This is definitely not what I signed up for when I moved here. Alas, I’ve had to adopt some winter survival skills for getting around the city. Even though the thermometer may say that it’s 25 degrees, with the intense wind chill that has been hitting us it feels like it’s constantly below 10 degrees. (I know, I know… I’m from Massachusetts and I shouldn’t complain. But let’s be honest, 10 degrees is cold anywhere!) These are some winter essentials that are currently on my radar as the temperature continues to drop.

I have a knitted headband that I take everywhere with me during winter! Not only does it keep my forehead and ears warm but they’re also super cute! Check out this easy site for more headbands!

While a down jacket may be a bit of overkill for the south, it’s definitely something that I need to think about getting for when I head back to Boston. I’m obsessed with the look of this down jacket from Land’s End. It’s a bit pricey but you can’t beat cute and cozy!

These L.L. Bean 8-inch shearling lined boots are complete perfection. I love L.L. Bean boots because they’re durable, waterproof, and warm. These boots are perfect for trudging around the snow while still keeping your feet warm and dry! Luckily I don’t have much need for them in North Carolina but they’re definitely on my list of something I need to re-invest in when I move back to Massachusetts next Winter.
